Final Score: Hitchin 'A' 13 - 2 Canterbury Hitchin 'A' set off at a quick pace this week and took an early lead over an inexperienced but enthusiastic Cantebury side. Hitchin 'A' were wining most face offs, moving the ball quickly and finishing on target during the 1st and 2nd quarters. Canterbury had their fair share of possession throughout this half but couldn't always hold onto the ball against a more experienced team. Canterbury did manage to score one goal in the 1st quarter and one in the 2nd quarter, bringing the score to Hitchin 'A' 8 - 2 Canterbury at half time. Going into the second half, Hitchin 'A' had the upper hand and continued with more of the same, strong attacking play during the 3rd and 4th quarters. They scored 3 goals in the 3rd quarter and 2 goals in the 4th. Canterbury had a goal disallowed in the 3rd quarter and the Hitchin 'A' defence enjoyed a fairly quiet second half. Due to the largely new and inexperienced side, Canterbury fell prey to numerous fouls throughout the match and were unable to provide the fininshing touch against an experienced Hitchin team. After the match Canterbury were heard to say "Great... we've doubled our score from last week" With a little more training and match play Canterbury will be an up and coming team in the East 2 division.
