Final Score: Hitchin 'A' 11 - 2 Royal Holloway This week saw Hitchin 'A' have a good turn out for their home match against Royal Holloway in the 1st round of the Flags. Hitchin 'A' were determined from the outset and won nearly every face off allowing them to take a 3 - 0 lead in the 1st quarter. Royal Holloway had a mixed team of experienced and new players, who managed to keep Hitchin 'A' at arms length for a while during the 2nd quarter. Royal Holloway had several shots saved or go just wide of the target before they scored their first goal. Hitchin 'A' regained control and went on to score 2 more goals before half time. Hitchin 'A' were 5 - 1 up going into the 3rd quarter. Both teams fought hard and had equal possession of the ball. Royal Holloway got another goal and Hitchin 'A' replied with 2 more goals of their own. In the final quarter Hitchin 'A' picked up the pace and took full advantage of their lead. With some good midfield running, tight defence and on target shots they scored 4 more goals. Hitchin 'A' met with a slightly stronger Royal Holloway side than they were expecting. Royal Holloway have improved their stick skills and team work since the teams last met. Both teams were good sportsmen and played a very clean game.
