Final Score: Hertfordshire Comets 6 - 5 Hitchin 'A' Both teams were slow to settle into the match with some sloppy passing and leaving ground balls on the floor for too long. The first quarter saw both teams with equal possession but they did very little to find the back of the net. Eventually Comets drew 'first blood' as they scored 3 goals and Hitchin 'A' failed to hit the target. The 2nd quarter saw both teams get their ' game heads' on and they each scored 2 goals. Comets had several shots at goal but were unable to get it past the Hitchin 'A' goalie as Shakey saved 4 on target shots. During the 3rd, hits started to get harder and spirits got a little high as tension rose between the teams and the referees decisions. Order was quickly restored with Hitchin 'A' scoring 2 goals and the Comets not finding a way past the strong Hitchin 'A' defence or Martin the goalie as he saved 3 on target shots. The 4th quarter saw Hitchin 'A' step up their attack and score, but Comets soon replied with another goal of their own keeping them just ahead. Hitchin 'A' started to get their act together and began fighting harder only to suffer disappointment as a shot hit the side of the net just before the final whistle. Unfortunately Hitchin 'A' had left it too late in the quarter to make a comeback. This was a low scoring match due to both teams displaying some very good defensive play and some brilliant goalkeeping from the Hitchin 'A' goalies this week.
