Hitchin 'A' made the long journey north to Norwich this week to meet UEA for the first time. On arrival Hitchin 'A' found that UEA had enough players and subs to field two teams!

Both teams were fairly evenly matched and fighting hard in the first half. With plenty of fast breaks and lots of scoring opportunities for both sides. Hitchins' goalie made plenty of on target saves to stop UEA from scoring. Hitchins' experienced defence had plenty of turn overs to provide the attack with scoring chances. Hitchin didn't make the most of these opportunities as several shots hit the post or went wide, but they did managed to score 3 goals before half time.

Half time: UEA 0 - 3 Hitchin 'A'

The second half saw more of the same, with both teams having equal possession. Hitchin scored 2 more goals in the 3rd qtr and 1 in the 4th. UEA finally managed to find a hole in Hitchins' defence in the 3rd qtr and they scored 2 goals. With a lot more on target saves from Hitchins' goalie UEA failed to score in the 4th qtr.

 Final score: UEA 2 - 6 Hitchin 'A'

It was a much needed win for Hitchin 'A' this week and they will now be able to build on this. With their first win in East 1 under their belts, I predict another win for them next week and a return to their winning formula. The enormous UEA squad provided some interesting opposition for Hitchin this week and with all those players, they will be one to watch in East 1, once they have gained a  bit more experience.
