Final Score: Putney II 4 - 16 Sprites Hitchin Ladies Win Again Once again Hitchin ladies were able to field a strong team, for their away match against Putney II, although they were short of a goalie this week. So, Alison stepped into goal for the first half and Claire went into goal during the second half. Putney II were unable to field a full team and they were two players short, giving Sprites the advantage. Hitchin Sprites were fired up for this match after their last win. The goals came quick and fast straight from the start with Sprites quickly taking the lead, and scoring 7 goals by half time. Putney II played well in the first half but were double teamed by defence and couldn't always make the finish, but they did manage to slide through and score 4 goals by half time. Half time score: Putney II 4 Hitchin 7 Hitchin dominated the play during the second half due to our young centres, Sam & Fran, winning plenty of draws to allow strong attacking play to take place. Putney II put in a lot of effort and turned the play around several times, but with 2 players short it proved difficult to compete against a strong Hitchin side. Putney II did manage to score 3 goals in the second half and Sprites scored 9. Hitchin Sprites put in a great performance with good team work, strong attacking and a solid defence.
